Gist

Delete my data

We delete the original source after we process it. You can remove a share URL or delete your account and history by contacting support from the email on the account.

The article, the PDF, the video — the thing you Gisted — is sent to our servers, read once, and removed. We do not keep the original source. We do not keep a copy. What stays is the finished layered summary (so you can re-open it, and so a share URL can render it) and, if you are signed in, your reading history.

See What Gist does on your device vs. on our servers for the full before-click / after-click split.

Remove a specific share URL

Send the URL through contact support. Put "remove share" in the message so it routes correctly. The URL stops working within a short window of that request.

Delete your account and all your data

Send the request through contact support from the email on the account. Ask us to delete your account and all associated data. We confirm and process the deletion.

Deletion is permanent. Reading history, all share URLs you created, and subscription records go with the account. If you are an active paid member, cancel the subscription first — see Manage your subscription.

The on-device index stays local

The Auto-Suggest on-device index lives in your browser profile. Uninstalling the extension removes it locally. That index never contained page content — see the privacy doc above.
