Install Gist on Chrome
Install, pin, subscribe, try it on the first page you read. Pin the toolbar icon before anything else — Chrome hides it behind the puzzle menu by default.
Pin the Gist icon to your toolbar before anything else.
Chrome hides the Gist icon behind its puzzle-icon menu by default. Pin it first and the rest is easy.
Install
- Open the Gist listing in the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then confirm the permissions prompt.
- Click Chrome's puzzle icon. Find Gist. Click the pin next to it.
Subscribe and sign in
Gist is a paid membership — $9/month or $99/year. The extension requires a signed-in, paying account.
Open /join in your browser to subscribe — sign-in and checkout happen on that web page. Then click the pinned Gist icon and sign in to the extension with Google or email. The extension opens its sign-in in Chrome's managed auth window, so popup blockers do not affect it.
Want to try it before subscribing? Paste any URL or upload a file at /try — no account needed.
Try it
Open any article, paper, PDF, or YouTube video. Click the pinned Gist icon. The reader opens on top of the page with the one-slide Gist. Swipe (or press →) for more depth.
No extension? Paste a URL, upload a file, or paste raw text at /try. Same layered read, no install needed.
What is next
- How the reader works — the overlay, the swipe, the keyboard.
- The layers — why the first slide is the whole point.
- Install Gist on Chrome — if something breaks on the way in.
